Tommy began his musical journey at around 8 years old, messing around on the piano after watching his mother play. Curiosity got the best of him, and he fell in love with music. Tommy is self taught on piano with a few formal classes in college. He also began playing saxophone in late 1984, studying under Jeff McIntosh, Tony D'Andrea, Ed Leamon, and Alan Wyatt along the way. Bass guitar has been a hobby for Tommy since around 1988. Playing anything Jazz, Contemporary, Pop, Rock, Soul, Funk... just give him a groove and some chord changes let's create something! Over the years, he's performed with artists such as Arturo Sandoval, Phil Driscoll, Delfeyo Marsalis, Marvin Stamm, Wynton Marsalis, Bobby Messano, Larry Howard, Dominic Serpico Jr., and Sean O'Bryan Smith. Tommy has also been involved in several recording sessions in the Chattanooga and Nashville areas. Currently, he is a regular member of area ensembles such as; Burk's Crossfire Band, Swingtime Orchestra, Walt Meyer Orchestra, Saxophobia. Tommy is also a regular sub for the Nashville-based Skyline Drive band. Saxophone influences are: Charlie Parker, Brent King, Paul Desmond, Dave Koz, Candy Dulfer, Maceo Parker, David Sanborn, Mark Douthit, Alan Wyatt, Jeff Kashiwa, and Kenny G.
